Our Homeschool Artist Study class today!
We learned about Hilma af Klint — a female pioneer in Abstract Art!

Born in 1862, she created some of the first abstract paintings using shapes, colors, and patterns — way before it was trendy! Fun fact - she put a moratorium on her art - it was kept secret and not allowed to be shown to the public until 20 years after her death.

We celebrated her style with a Mixed Media Project:

Wow! We had the BEST time celebrating Addison’s 6th birthday with a Princess Peach-themed art party! 🎂🎨 From painting royal stained glass masterpieces to crafting the cutest crown mirrors, our studio was filled with creativity, laughter, and a whole lot of pink! 💖✨

Addison and her friends brought their A-game, turning into little artists and making the Mushroom Kingdom proud! 🍄👸🍑Thank you to Addison’s family for choosing us to be part of this special day—we loved every magical moment!

This morning, our Mommy & Me Preschool Book & Craft was all about Vincent Van Gogh! 🌻✨ We read Vincent’s Colors and got inspired to create our own Starry Nights and Sunflowers—because why not bring a little Van Gogh magic to our day?

Later, our Homeschool Artist Study dived into the world of Charles McGee—a Detroit art legend! 🏙️🎨 We explored his bold black-and-white style from United We Stand, but in true Mama Miss Art Studio fashion, we took that inspiration and ran with it! Whether staying true to his methods or adding our own twist, it’s all about the creative journey with little artists in my studio.

At the end of the day, I’m all about process over perfection—teaching kids about artists, their styles, and then watching where their imagination takes them! 🚀💡
